Don't Make These Mistakes

You're limiting your reach...

Content creation doesn’t have to be as difficult as a lot of people make it seem to be. Literally, almost anything, can be made into content.

I’m sure you have videos in your phone right now that would make for some great content.

That video of you driving your car

That video of you filming from the window seat on an airplane

That video of you filming the sunset

That video of you working from your desk

Content can be delivered in so many ways.

I’m going to go over some common mistakes I see beginners make ⬇️

  1. Don’t be confusing.

You need to ‘dumb’ down your content. Don’t use big words, and pretend you are delivering your message to a 6 year old.

Instead of saying, “Here’s how I used the aperture and ISO to get this certain look”

SAY:

“Here’s exactly how I was able to achieve this look on my videos”

Using words like aperture and ISO to people who aren’t familiar with cameras would scare them off.

Keep it simple!

  1. Overthink the small stuff

A lot of people, myself included, would overthink the small stuff.

“This shot isn’t perfect”

“I look weird”

“I mispronounced something”

I can PROMISE you, it’s not that big of a deal. Even if people notice it, they’ll forget about it as they scroll to another video after watching yours.

You’re limiting your reach by not posting. I can’t tell you how many ‘imperfect’ videos I’ve posted for myself or for clients. Just post it.

Sure, you might not be the best on camera at first BUT…how else are you supposed to get better?

  1. Don’t Be Boring.

“Here’s how to grow your biceps”

Instead say:

“Here’s how to grow big a** biceps that all the chicks will love”

Think of your boring statement/hook, then add some sauce.

On top of not saying boring words, you need to make sure your tone isnt boring either. Avoid being monotone. The viewer needs to feel your energy!

As always, if you have any questions about content creation, I’m just a DM away on instagram.

Happy Creating Everyone!
