Why This Video Got More Reach Than Others...

I recently posted a reel that got more reach than my other videos.

I’m going to break it down for you.

The hook of the video was:

“this man spent $16,000 on something he would call stupid…”

For context, as i said that, the video had a pop up of a man with a question mark over him to spark the curiosity even further.

After completing the hook, I then revealed who it was, which was Steven Bartlett, the host of “The diary of a CEO”, who in my opinion, is one of the best podcasters out there.

This video got more reach than my other videos because I sparked enough curiosity in the beginning, while also attaching a $ amount to the hook, AND then revealing who it was, which is someone famous.

Using famous people, money, and mystery in your hook is great way to get people to stay longer. 2/3 of the people who watched that video were non followers as well, which is great!

The type of content this is, is more story telling than anything else.

Another thing I want to mention is that I didn’t reveal what the stupid purchase was until second 22 out of 53.

That’s almost half way through the video meaning a lot of people stayed until about half the video.

This is something I will attempt to test out in future videos as well.

As Always,

Happy Creating!
